There’s something undeniably comforting about ordering food in from a local restaurant, putting on your favorite show, and vegging on the couch. But sometimes, things come up, and you have to cancel your night in, and your order.
If you’re using DoorDash, you can cancel an order via the app or the desktop version of the platform.
Here’s what you need to know to get it done, including how to get a refund:
Can you get a refund from DoorDash?
Yes, but how much of a refund you get depends on the status of your order and when you cancel it. So you’ll have to be quick to get a full refund, unless the order itself is late.
Here’s a quick guide to how refunds generally work on the platform:
- Full refund: You cancel before your order is confirmed by the restaurant and before a Dasher (a.k.a. a courier) has been assigned.
- No refund: Restaurant has confirmed your order and a Dasher has been assigned.
Partial refunds may occur if either the restaurant has confirmed the order or a Dasher has been assigned. In those cases, it may be up to Doordash to decide how much of a refund is compensated.
